New digital artwork added, portfolio updated - 21/01/10
I've uploaded a new piece of digital artwork; it's a colour version of one of my favourite pieces (see the original here). I've also updated the images in the portfolio to include some more recent work. The site will be getting a lot more updates this year, so keep your eyes peeled!
New images added - 12/11/09
I've uploaded a couple of competition entries to the art gallery. These are some of the first images I've completed entirely digitally, using my new Wacom Cintiq 12WX graphics tablet; I'm very pleased with how well the images have turned out. Keep an eye out for more digital artwork coming to the site soon as I continue to experiment with this new medium.

There are seven new photos in the photo gallery. These were all taken whilst on holiday in the British Virgin Islands.
New images added to the gallery - 02/10/09
I've added a dozen new images to the art gallery. These new additions comprise eleven decorative images of various star constellations (these were used on tables at a wedding) and a pencil version of this photograph of Downing College, which was used as the background image for a wedding invitation.
Updated site design and new "Services" section - 11/07/09
For those of you browsing this site in the latest version of Firefox (version 3.5), Google Chrome, Opera or Safari you may notice that some aspects of the site's design have been changed and spruced up a bit. I've added a number of funky CSS3 effects - sadly Microsoft continue to lag behind when it comes to web-standards compliance so these enhancements won't display if you're browsing the site using Internet Explorer. I've also added a new services section that details some of the many services that I can provide as a freelance illustrator and artist. I hope that you like these improvements to the site; as ever, comments are very welcome.
New photo edits online - 20/06/09

New pictures added to the galleries - 03/06/09
A big update today with lots of new content! I've uploaded a new Ruttle drawing to the art gallery and a new photograph to the photo gallery.
arhicks.co.uk is now Internet Explorer 8 compatible - 06/05/09
Now that Microsoft has started to roll out the latest version of its browser - Internet Explorer 8 - the site has been updated so that it should display properly without having to use "Compatibility Mode". The site is also backwards-compatible with Internet Explorer 7. It's also a good time for me to recommend alternative browsers such as Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome, which were used in the development of this site.
New sketch added to the art gallery - 19/02/09
A new sketch of a Space Marine boltgun has been added to the art gallery. This is a test piece that I made to try out my new acrylic inks. I'm pleased with the result and these inks will be used again on other pieces. Watch this space!
New artwork added - 26/01/09
A further two new images have been added to the art gallery; these are both black & white pieces that I've completed in my spare time using pencils. I'm now working on some test pieces usingacrylic inks - I'll put one of these up on the site in the next week or two.
New artwork added - 27/12/08
I've added a couple of pictures to the art gallery; one is a picture that I did for my future in-laws as a Christmas present and the other is a commissioned piece. I'd also like to say a big 'thank you' to everyone that's visited the site since its launch. Expect to see even more content added in 2009!
The Lancet commission added - 19/12/08
My first ever art commission was for the medical journal The Lancet, but I couldn't display it here on the site until their end-of-year issue went to press. You can find all of the pictures that I produced for this big commission in the art gallery and the cover also features in the portfolio. You may also notice that the layout of the galleries has changed a bit, which should hopefully make them easier to navigate.
RSS feed launched - 03/12/08
As promised, I've now added an RSS feed to the site! Subscribers will get notifications of updates to the site straight into their news readers. You can subscribe by clicking on the orange RSS icon above or this link.Mozilla Firefox users can subscribe by clicking on the RSS icon in the address bar and Internet Explorer users can click on the RSS icon in the menu bar. Look out for new updates to the site in the next few days!
Facebook page added - 23/11/08
I've added a Facebook fan page for my artwork; if you like my work, please become a fan! The page can be found here and I've added a link above. I'll also be adding an RSS feed in the not-too-distant future so that you can be notified about updates to the site.
Website launched! - 23/11/08
Today is the official launch date for www.arhicks.co.uk! This website showcases my artwork and I hope that you like what you see. This site is the result of several months of coding and many years of drawing! The site is still in its infancy so if you do encounter any problems or mistakes then please drop me an email. I plan to update this site regularly with new artwork, illustrations and photos. Enjoy your stay!
